Tenant Information

We manage over 130,000 square feet of heated hangar space and 190 smaller aircraft T-hangars. Please contact us with your short or long-term aircraft hangar storage needs.  We recommend you place your name on the hangar waiting list at your earliest opportunity to ensure space is available when ready to make the move. Placing your name on the waiting list is free and you’re under no obligation.  Our aircraft hangar contracts are simple one year contracts with convenient 30 day cancellation clause.
Professional office suites and light industrial space is also available for lease.  Call us today to inquire about space availability to fulfill all of your business needs. MTN Tenant Directive 401.1 “Standard Rates and Fees”, is revised and published with an effective date of July 1, this directive identifies all fees at Martin including office space rental and aircraft parking charges.

Airport History

In 1929, Mr. Glenn L. Martin, a pioneer aviation designer and constructor, purchased 1,260 acres twelve miles east of Baltimore for the purpose of creating an aircraft manufacturing site for the Glenn L. Martin Aircraft Company. One of the first aircraft produced at Martin was the B-10, in 1932, which brought the company of the Collier Trophy. Construction of three runways, Hangars 1-2-3, and the Airport Administration Building took place during 1939-1940. Hangars 4-5-6 and the Strawberry Point Hangar were completed in 1940-1941. The China Clipper, PBM flying boats, B-26 bomber and Martin Mars were produced in these facilities. During the post-World War II period, the Martini 202 and 404 commercial transports, as well as jet-powered aircraft, were produced. The Martin Company consolidated with the American Marietta Corporation in September 1961 to form the Martin Marietta Corporation. The acreage devoted to airfield use, namely 747 acres, was sold on September 20, 1975, to the State of Maryland. In its role of fostering and developing aviation, the State's purpose in purchasing the Airport was to ensure the retention of a General Aviation facility close to Baltimore.

The Maryland Aviation Administration operates the Airport on behalf of the Maryland Department of Transportation. MTN is a General Aviation Reliever Airport.

Our recently overlaid 180 feet wide grooved asphalt runway, welcomes you as you make your approach to runway 3Martin State Airport - 3 over the picturesque waters of the Chesapeake Bay.

On your approach to Martin State Airport, you may witness our frequent Military aircraft operations, Law Enforcement helicopter operations, and some flight training activity, as well as occasional sailboat traffic on the approach to runway 33.

Prior permission required for aircraft exceeding 12,500 pounds requesting practice takeoffs and landings. No practice approaches or practice takeoffs and landings permitted between the hours of 10:00 p.m. & 6:00 a.m. Military aircraft limited to (2) practice approaches and/or practice takeoffs and landings without prior airport management approval. Engine runs for maintenance shall be accomplished only in designated run up areas. Routine engine run-ups prior to departure shall be accomplished at the runway hold lines. C-130's departing Runway 33 shall perform engine run-up on Tango taxiway prior to Delta taxiway.

Noise Abatement

The Martin State Airport (MTN) Noise Zone was established in 1977 in response to the 1974 Maryland Environmental Noise Act. This act requires the Maryland Aviation Administration (MAA) to adopt an Airport Noise Zone to prevent further incompatible land development around Martin State Airport and to minimize the impact of aircraft noise on people living near the airport.

The noise environment around an airport is described by contours of equal noise exposure, representing the noise that occurs during an average 24-hour day, in terms of the Day-Night Average Sound Level (DNL, Ldn).

The MAA routinely conducts airport-related noise sampling at selected locations around MTN, advising the surrounding communities of any significant changes through Neighbors' Committee Meetings and public meetings when the Airport Noise Zone is being updated.

FROM I95 SOUTH - (coming from the north):
I95 South to MD 43 East - White Marsh Blvd - Exit 67A. Make a right onto Eastern Blvd (Rt. 150 West). Merge to the far left lane and make a left onto Wilson Point Road. Drive 1/2 mile to main entrance and the airport is on the left.

FROM I95 NORTH - (coming from the south):
I95 North to MD 43 East - White Marsh Blvd - Exit 67B. Make a right at the light onto Eastern Blvd (Rt. 150 West). Merge to the left at the light and make a left onto Wilson Point Road. Drive 1/2 mile to main entrance and the airport is on the left.

FROM I695 SOUTH BALTIMORE BELTWAY - (coming from Towson):
I695 South to Essex. Left exit 31C - White Marsh Blvd. Make a right onto Eastern Blvd (Rt. 150 West). Merge to the far left lane and make a left onto Wilson Point Road. Drive 1/2 mile to main entrance and the airport is on the left.

FROM I695 NORTH BALTIMORE BELTWAY - (coming from Key Bridge):
I695 North to Essex. Take Exit 38E East to Essex (Eastern Blvd - Rt. 150 East). Drive 5 miles on Eastern Blvd to Wilson Point Road. Make right onto Wilson Point Road at light. Drive 1/2 mile to main entrance and the airport is on the left.

FROM BWI AND BALTIMORE WASHINGTON EXPRESSWAY (MD RTE 295):
RTE295 North to Baltimore. Take Exit 52 onto I-95 North to MD 43 East - White Marsh Blvd - Exit 67B. Make a right at the light onto Eastern Blvd (Rt. 150 West). Merge to the far left lane and make a left onto Wilson Point Road. Drive 1/2 mile to main entrance and the airport is on the left.

FROM I-895 HARBOR TUNNEL THRUWAY:
Take I-895 North thru the Baltimore Harbor Tunnel which will eventually turn into I-95 North. Take MD 43 East - White Marsh Blvd - Exit 67B. Make a right onto Eastern Blvd (Rt. 150 West). Merge to the far left lane and make a left onto Wilson Point Road. Drive 1/2 mile to main entrance and the airport is on the left.

FROM DOWNTOWN BALTIMORE (INNER HARBOR AREA):
Take Lombard Street left onto Light Street then a right onto Conway Street (look for posted I-395 signs). Left onto I-395. Take I-95 North exit thru the Ft. McHenry Tunnel to Eastern Avenue, Exit 59. Drive east toward Essex approximately 7 miles to Wilson Point Road. Make right onto Wilson Point Road at light. Drive 1/2 mile to main entrance and the airport is on the left.

Alternate Route:
East on Pratt Street until it ends at Patterson Park Avenue. Right on Patterson Park Avenue. Take left at first light onto Eastern Avenue. Drive east toward Essex for approximately 10 miles to Wilson Point Road. Make a right onto Wilson Point Road at light. Drive 1/2 mile to main entrance and the airport is on the left.

FROM I83 SOUTH BALTIMORE HARRISBURG EXPRESSWAY - (coming from Hunt Valley):
I83 South to I695 Baltimore Beltway, Exit 14 to Towson. Follow I695 toward Essex. Left exit 31C - White Marsh Blvd. Make a right at the light onto Eastern Blvd (Rt. 150 West). Merge to the far left lane and make a left onto Wilson Point Road. Drive 1/2 mile to main entrance and the airport is on the left.

There are several limousine service providers available to pick you up on the ramp as your aircraft taxis to parking.  Please give us advanced notice and we will have a limo standing by upon your arrival.

We have late model rental cars available on the field. Whether you need a full-size car, a mini-van, or an SUV, we can help. Please give us advanced notice and we will have your rental car standing by for your transportation needs.

TAXI SERVICE

If your ground transportation needs are better suited with a taxi service, we can assist with that as well. We ask that the crew contact the FBO when prior to your approach , and we will have a taxi standing by awaiting your arrival.

We are just minutes away from some of the finest seafood restaurants along the eastern seaboard.
